The Whitney/ Bobby Tradition Continues....

Just when we thought it was getting better... Bobbi Kristina ends up in leaked pictures snorting cocaine, what a suprise coming from the family she had to grow up in, but it's still sad to hear. Allegedly she says "It's not what it looks like...", despite the fact that, that is exactly what it looks like. The pictures show Bobbi Kristina with a a small straw-like object held up to her nose, holding it up to a white substance on a tray, looking very similar to cocaine. With their continued drug use over years, I question Whitney and Bobby on the ethics they taught their children. Before they knew about the drug use, they should have been taking actions to make sure their daughter was specifically sheltered to drugs. And with a singing career starting off, this is not the best publicity for Bobby Kristina. The world we live in is full of it...

Did Everyone Forget About Da Brat?

 The artist 'Da Brat' is back on the streets today. 'Da Brat' was imprisoned 3 years ago for hitting a waitress in club Studio 72 (Atlanta) upside the head with a bottle. After spending time in a Georgia state prison I'm sure shes ecstatic to be out. I guess if you don't have the money, you shouldn't commit the crime. It kind of sucks to be an out of work rapper though. No big headlines for her or even an event at one of Atlanta's many clubs to welcome her back. Hopefully Jermaine Dupri is looking out for her but I seriously doubt it. I know if he was just getting out, the news would've been around before he even left the jail cell. And he didn't really look out for her  before she went in anyway. The world we live in is full of it...

Is BET representing its fan base?

 

I’m not a big Trey Songz fan but, I do understand how he has so many fans. I even have a friend that made a Twitter page just to try to communicate with him. I believe his fan base would be primarily 16-24, black and female. When I saw his “Can't Be Friends” video I was so surprised. In this video, the main chick happens to be white. Absolutely no image close to his fan base. I  know some of you reading this may not think this matters but, can you imagine being a teenage, black female and seeing this on BET? It puts out there that you are not good enough to be on the arm of this artist, but you ARE good enough to support the tv network and him and his music. Back to my friend, that is a dark skinned, beautiful, female desperately in love with Trey Songz and does nothing but support him. That image just gave her self esteem a slap in the face. Then in the black community we wonder why many black women feel they have to HAVE weave in their hair and lighten their skin color. Why put an image that cannot be obtained out there to your fan base? Not saying that all the images have to be black females but, why not a variety of females? Especially on BET that is supposed to represent black people. The world we live in is full of it…

Omarion Tooty Fruity!!

While we all know that most of the men in entertainment are gay I’m still wondering about Omarion. When he was seen more frequently with Bow Wow it got people speaking on if they were ‘doin the booty’. There are quite a lot of facts though that can support this claim of a relationship between the young fruities.

If you didn’t know, Bow Wow just left the Atlanta based producer Jermaine Dupri. It is speculated that they went separate ways because Dupri did not agree with his relationship with Omarion. During producing with Omarion and Bow Wow, many in the Dupri camp noticed that there seemed to be a relationship or closeness going on between the two while recording. If this wasn’t enough, Omarion told BET during an interview that he likes to wear tight jeans to quote ‘show off his figure’. Wtf?? Who says that in an interview and is surprised when they are seen as gay to the public. Bow Wow later recorded a song with a line stating ‘your jeans as tight as O’. Number one, why is he even noticing how tight Omarions jeans are?! And number two, why would that come up in your rap lyrics?

While Omarion did get married, this appears to be a front as well. Omarion’s wife is a former stripper from Magic City and also is openly bisexual. He married and released a sex tape soon after the rumors of him and Bow Wow started. Seems to me that would be a great way to try to stop rumors and also be able to continue his gay relationship. Chris Browns New Breezy??

Chris Brown really has been getting around lately. Since breaking up with Rhianna he has been seen out MANY different times with different women. Shortly after his Rhianna beat down there was Draya Michele, a video model and party host. Not sure if this was his actual boo for a time or if she was just a bust down as many say. Most recently there was Jasmine Sanders, a 20 yr old model he seemed to spend most of his time with. This past weekend though, Chris Brown was in Atlanta and was actually seen out with a new mystery girl. The mystery girl is similar to Draya as in she is a video girl and model. For Colored Girls...A Must See!!

If you haven’t went and seen “For Colored Girls” you are really missing out. Its Tyler Perry’s adaptation on the play by Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf”. The movie has a great cast of black actresses including Janet Jackson, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad and Thandie Newton. (Almost any movie that has Janet in it I’m going to see, I think she’s a wonderful actress, I’ve loved her since “Poetic Justice” ) The movie is based upon the relationships that the women have had with the black men in their lives. Without telling you how the movie unfolds I will just let you know that one relationship involves domestic violence, another involves a woman always taking back a cheater, while still another deals with a woman who has many different sex partners on a regular basis. This movie was so moving, I swear I almost cried 3 times. It was so touching because I could honestly see people I know and even myself in some of these characters, it was that realistic. We as black women honestly take a lot from our black men and we should start thinking about our own well being first. “For Colored Girls” was very deep and factual, unlike most of Tyler Perry’s movies. Kim Kardashian Is An Artist

When you just thought the music industry couldn’t get worse with its artists, introducing Kim Kardashian: The Artist. Yes its true, an album is in the works for the reality star. Rumor is she's working with the producer The Dream on the album. Despite what The Dream did to Christiana Milian, he is still a very talented artist and producer and while Kim K most likely doesn’t have the best voice, I'm sure he can put something together for her. Not sure how the album will sell though, but she does have a fan base that loves everything she does and I believe that those numbers will help with the album sells. 50 Cent and Soulja Boy Besties???

The November cover of XXL is alarming. Why is 50 so close to Soulja Boy that it appears as though his hand is on his hip? Questions to ponder…hmmm. . If you didn’t know why 50 has a rag over his face while he appears behind Soulja Boy, I will tell you. They share a deep admiration for each other. One is the mentor to the other, and by the picture I‘m sure you can tell which is which. (Even though I’m really not sure how you can admire a grown man who takes a picture with a rag covering most of his face.) "If I had the wish to be another artist, just for right now, it would be Soulja Boy," 50 revealed. Soulja Boy explains how he looks up to 50 in the article, and how even though they’re from different regions, they still have the same issues in the rap game. 50 even defended Soulja Boy over twitter when he was beefing with Fabolous a couple of months ago saying, “I told you n*ggas a long time ago Soulja Boy my little n*gga yal better leave him the f*ck alone for somebody get hurt…For the last time I'm telling you n*ggas leave my n*gga alone…” Ok. Miss. Perfect sued???

A lawsuit was filed against Tyra Banks for $3 million dollars  accusing her of allowing an underage girl to appear on her show without permission. The lawsuit also accuses Tyra of portraying the 15yr old as a sex addict. If you watch the Tyra Show like I do, you know that most of her shows are directed towards teens. While I know she means good, Tyra has no common sense. She’s been a super model since she was in the eleventh grade and she believes she knows everything! (FYI, If you are a video model or King/ Smooth magazine model you are not as good as her because she is considered a supermodel.) Some issues, I think she shouldn’t be discussing with children under 18. Sex addiction is one. When you are a teenager having sex you want to have it as much as possible. Your hormones are out of control and you think about boys all the time. This does not make you a sex addict. To Tyra, it may seem like that, since she likes to portray herself as a person that was never influenced by drugs, alcohol, or sex. Whatever….She’s above all of us, I know. Fashion Statement or Humanitarian?

 Like a vintage Gucci bag, black babies are still in style this season. Celebrities and housewives are flocking to the nearest orphanage to pick one up. Well not the nearest, actually the farthest and poorest one they can find to get their black baby. Many feel that whites are not well equipped to care for a black child and actually criticize them for adopting black children to form some kind of ’fashion statement’. Me, on the other hand, is totally agreeable with it. If I was a child in a dirty, raggedy orphanage in some third world country, and you told me that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt wanted to adopt me, I’m going! I could care less about what color their skin is or if it’s a fashion statement my main thought is to get the hell out of there! What we have to understand is in general, we are trying to make the situation better for these kids, it will never be perfect because no ones life is ever perfect. So if a millionaire wants to adopt a black child living in poverty for a fashion statement, so be it. The world we live in is full of it...

Tyler Perry's Explanation

 Did anyone see Tyler Perry’s appearance on Oprah? It clarified many of my thoughts about him. Perry began by talking about the abuse he went through from his father, who used to beat him and his mother, and emotionally put him down. He was molested by multiple people that were close to him, including a woman who made him look for keys in her va-j-j. Perry attended the show with his aunt, who was curiously similar looking to his character “Madea“. Tyler Perry also spoke of his sexual relationships with girlfriends when he was an adult, saying that he felt ‘uncomfortable’ whenever it was time to have intercourse with any of them. I say this clarified my thoughts about him because it explains why he’s close to many celebrity men. If he feels uncomfortable around women when intercourse comes up, why would he even pursue a relationship with a woman? Tyler Perry honestly has not been seen in public with many women besides the actresses that are in his plays or movies. It is rumored that many of the actors chose to be in his films and plays are ’in the closet’. One for example, is Terrel Carter who starred in Perry’s “Class Reunion” and “Meet The Browns”. Carters pictures with an alleged ex-boyfriend were posted all over the web. Also pictures of him at Pride, a gay festival that was held in Brazil, were leaked as well. All of this doesn’t point one way at Perry’s sexuality but it does point in the right direction. The world we live in is full of it…

Murses... Man Purses???

What has the world come to when a man feels like he needs to carry around a purse? Terrance Howard, Andre 3000, Seal, Jaime Foxx, and my boo Pharrel have all been seen around with these “murses”. I wonder what they need a purse for? Its understandable for women to carry around purses. For heaven sakes, we have lip gloss, pens, tampons, makeup, mirrors, pictures, mail, combs/brushes, gum and a whole lot of other things we are constantly looking for. When a man goes out, what does he need? Money, I.d., phone, and keys. (maybe some gum would be nice) And if his pants are the right size, I believe that all of this can fit in his pocket. Maybe its just a Hollywood thing, but if I see a straight man with a purse, I may have second thoughts about his sexuality. The world we live in is full of it...

Kanye's Situation

I told you Kanye West was crazy. I don’t feel bad for him anymore. I think he has Dementia. (look it up) Do his theatrics even surprise you anymore? I was astounded when I saw the album cover for his new cd, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’. He claims it’s a phoenix straddling him on the album cover. How the hell does that look like a phoenix and not a woman?! To me it looks like a white woman or even Amber Rose straddling him while he’s going crazy. Kanye and his subliminal messages, it should make you wonder what hes really trying to convey from this picture. Whatever it is can't be good. The record label doesn’t want him to release the cover but as usual Kanye disagrees and says they are ‘not letting him express his creativity’. Why doesn’t he see that most educated people see right through him? Kanye is not fooling anyone with these publicity stunts he tries to pull off for attention. Its funny (and alarming) how different he has become since the albums “College Dropout” and “Late Registration”. I used to like him. Smh… The world we live in is full of it…

The Black Female

As I look at videos, magazines, or clothes ads I see a lost of a black female. What surprises me is that they are all directed and catering to a black audience. Go look at a music video right now. The principle, main girl, is most definitely the lightest or even another race. This concerns me because it shows how black men view the black women in this world. Even our celebrities follow this example. I have to make the case though, that most of these men that end up getting paid millions are not the smartest of the bunch. Especially any ball player, they just end up following what others are doing or what they see on TV anyway, so I barely take what they are doing seriously. But, when I see that our top female artists are all of a lighter shade it makes me question. Even on most sitcoms the main female role is played by a lighter black. Even in hosting situations the female is the lightest of the light or of another ethnicity. Most definitely this can affect a females self esteem when she sees no one that looks similiar to her in a celebrity status. This is what skin lighting creams and bleaches were made for people! Publicity Stunt?

And to the new issue in the news, T.I. I can't say for certain if the man on the roof was a publicity stunt but, TI did just happen to be shooting his video in the same building that the man was planning on jumping off of. What a coincidence! Maybe he was just in the right place at the right time? Well anyways, I wonder why its such a big deal that he had the drugs on him anyways. (Not that I condone drug use, just in comparison to others) Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and other celebrities are found with drugs on them every other day and never spent more than a couple of weeks in jail. Hopefully they give him a break because I cant stand to hear another 'feel sorry' for me song that he puts on the radio. The world we live in is full of it...

Why is Bishop Eddie Long not speaking? If someone called you a child molester would you wait until your day in court to deny it? I think not! You would be in that persons face or upside their head defending your name. Long has not did any of this. So I seriously doubt him. Few know that New births Church spokesperson also faced complaints by his wife that he had an affair with a man. She actually divorced him over the information. It seems as though there are some deep secrets hidden over there.
